SDC149: Pink, Turquoise and Polka Dots

Sam Read is our hostess this month and her challenge is:

I'm so excited to be sharing with you my love for polka dots. Almost every thing I own is dotty!

Polka dots are great fun as a main feature or as a delicate accent to artwork. My other love is my favourite colour combination, pink and turquoise. So for this weeks challenge I'm inviting you to have fun with my favourite things: Pink, Turquoise and Polka Dots! I can't wait to see your creations, so get your rubber out and have lots of fun creating :)

**Please read new rule instituted with this challenge-we will no longer be accepting digi stamp creations as part of our challenges.  Stampotique is a red rubber stamp company and we prefer to see creations with stamps versus those with digital creations.  These entries will be deleted and will not be eligible for the prize.  Thank you for understanding.**

SDC148: Steampunk

Kathi Rerek is our hostess this week and her challenge is:

As an avid reader of Fantasy, Science Fiction, and Historical Fiction, it's only natural that Steampunk imagery appeals to me. Here's some info for you about Steampunk that I found at online. (http://www.ministryofpeculiaroccurrences.com/what-is-steampunk/ )

"Steampunk is an inspired movement of creativity and imagination. With a backdrop of either Victorian England or America’s Wild West at hand, modern technologies are re-imagined and realized as elaborate works of art, fashion, and mechanics. If Jules Verne or H.G. Wells were writing their science fiction today, it would be considered “steampunk.”"

My challenge to you is to create a Steampunk project using your stamps and your imagination!

SDC146: Color Challenge-Pink and Orange Background

Corrie is our hostess for this weeks challenge:

"Hello everybody and happy Wednesday to you. I am hosting today's Challenge and I would like you to use pink and orange in your background. Now my mother used to tell me that orange and pink don't go together but because I am a rebel, I think they do !!!

So I would like you to use pink and orange in the background of your project. I am looking forward to see what you come up with. Happy crafting."

May Guest Designer

Thank you to our April guest designer Monica Edwards for her cool creations this past month.

We welcome a new guest designer this month.
You have seen our next guest designer frequent our challenge blogs, she's been a top favorite many times over the past year.

We welcome Jools Robertson to the team for the month of May as our guest designer.

I work full time as a Textile Design & Development Manager working on commercial projects and developing product collections, so I’m constantly being creative working with textures, design and colour which I love.

In my spare time, I enjoy all types of arts and crafts and working with multimedia, particularly altered art using paint, clay, plaster, die cutting, stamps, pens, pencils using lots of colour and texture.

I’m currently on the DecoArt International Design Team, so I love using paints on my projects particularly with the Gelli Plate and Stencils.

I’ve always crafted and love trying new techniques and projects. I enjoy paper craft, jewellery, pottery, and even sugar craft ……. I love eating Marzipan and Icing!

I also use Craft Artist and Adobe Photoshop for image manipulation, taking images of my own artwork, photographs and incorporate them into digital projects such as Scrapbooking and Journaling.

I love Stampotique Stamps! The artwork is incredible, so unique, diverse, fun and quirky! The attention to detail, variety and expressive nature of them is amazing.
I’m so pleased to have been asked to be a Guest Designer and part of the Design Team for the May Challenges. Such fabulous challenges, which are always inspiring and I’m so looking forward to seeing everyone’s amazing creations.

Stop on over at Jools' blog and say "hi" to her.
