SDC242: Masculine

Hello and welcome back to our blog challenge this week and thanks for joining us for the challenge last week, that one was so fun.
The challenge this week is hosted by the wonderful Corrie and her challenge to us is "Masculine", here is what Corrie says about this challenge:
"I really struggle with cards for men. So this week I would like to see what you make when you need a masculine card."

We also have a few fun facts from our "Spotlight" designer Kathi Rerek

1. Do you have any other hobbies?
I love to read, bird watch, and drink wine. Usually not together.

2. If you were sent to a desert island, what five craft products (other than stamps, black ink, and paper) would you bring?
My Copics, Distress inks, paint/gesso, scissors/exacto, and my die cut machine (and dies).

3. Do you clean your stamps and stencils?
Yes and I clean up my table after each and every project.

4. Free for all including little facts, etc. about you.
I used to play violin. I love to sing and dance, but am not very good at either, so I do my singing and dancing in a car. I'm a rubber-band sharp shooter.

Thank you Kathi for being our spotlight designer this month, it was so great getting to know you better.

SDC241: TV Show or Movie Inspired

Welcome back to the blog everyone, we are onto another challenge this week and  Kristen Catalano
is our hostess. She is challenging us to a TV show or Movie inspired challenge. This should be a fun week.
Here is what Kristen says about this challenge:
"This week I want to see what you can create that is inspired by your favorite TV shows or Movie"

We also have a few fun facts from our "Spotlight" designer Kathi Rerek

1. Do you craft with music or do you prefer quiet?
Quiet

2. Do you clean your stamps and stencils?
Yes and I clean up my table after each and every project.

3. What's your favorite color and/or color scheme? Are there colors or color combos you don't use?
My favorite color is blue, specifically the blue of the sky at dusk. I have a lot of color combos that I like to use, but black, white, and red or blue especially appeal to be. I hate neon colors!!!

4. When you look at your stamp stash, what category has the most stamps? (animals, backgrounds, flowers, sentiments, etc.)
Cats, birds, fairies, coffee, and alcohol. My die collection mirrors my stamp collection.

SDC240: Crack Me Up

Welcome back to another challenge over here at Stampotique. This week  Kathi Rerek  is our hostess and she is challenging you to us crackle texture make us laugh this week...
 "Crack Me Up"
Here is what Kathi says about this challenge
"Create a humorous project that also has a crackle texture"
Kathi is also our "Spotlight" designer and here are a few more fun facts about her:

1.. What kind of projects do you like to do?
I'm primarily a card maker, but I do like to create canvases, art journal pages, and upcycled projects.

2. What are your favorite coloring mediums?
already answered

3. Describe your crafting "style".
I'd like to think that my "style" is eclectic and evolving. I like to create scenes and gravitate towards images that range from whimsical to edgy and most everywhere between. I don't do elegant or "country-cute".

4. How long have you been stamping and/or crafting?
I started paper crafting on June 27, 2000 so it's almost 16 years!

SDC239: Nature

Thanks for joining us for last week's challenge and welcome to a new month here at Stampotique. We are so excited because we have another "Spotlight" designer to introduce you to this month. Kathi Rerek is in the spotlight this month, she has been a part of the design team since 2014 and she is a true talent. She will be joining in our challenges each week Here are some fun facts about Kathi

What are your favorite tutorials for inspiration?
I don't really use tutorials for inspiration that often. I use them to learn new techniques and such.

What mediums are your favorite to use in your projects?
I mostly use Copic markers to color my images. I'm fond of using Clear Gelly Glaze pens by Sakura to add dimensional and shine to Copic-colored eyes, beaks, talons, and glass objects.
I also use a lot of Media Fluid Acrylic paints by DecoArt and Distress inks by Ranger.

What is your favorite Stampotique Stamp?
I can't choose just one. However, I can choose one from most artists. I'm very fond of Daniel Torrente's Angel, Kira Nichol's Line Up, Janet Klein's Flower Truck, Arwen McCullen's Skully, Amy Wilson-Wellenstein's Priscilla, and Kate Crane's Peace and Love with Words on the Side.

How often do you craft?
I think about crafting every day and am inspired by what I see in my daily life. I try to craft every day, but usually don't. So the anwer would likely be "as often as possible."

Thanks Kathi!!!
We will have more fun facts about Kathi next week.

For now we are onto
our challenge this week and it was chosen by Arwen McCullen and she is asking us to think "Nature" this week. Here is what Arwen says about this challenge:

"Create a project with only nature items in it, no humans or animals"

We hope you will join us for this fun challenge.
